VANCOUVER, British Columbia - February 27, 2019 - Aspect Biosystems, a Vancouver biotech company pioneering microfluidic 3D bioprinting of human tissues, has been named 2019 Growth Stage Company of the Year by LifeSciences BC. The LifeSciences BC Annual Awards, presented by FARRIS, recognizes talented individuals and organizations that represent the life sciences ecosystem in BC which includes academia, health institutions, government and industry.
Aspect has experienced rapid growth and demonstrated strong commercial traction since spinning out of the University of British Columbia. Over the past three years, the company has grown from less than 10 to over 35 employees, brought in smart venture capital to fuel development and expansion, and partnered with global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and advanced materials companies, as well as academic researchers. This award comes on the back of Aspect being named Emerging Company of the Year in 2018 by BIOTECanada.
